Peter J. Mogan
Since 1978, Peter Mogan has been active as a lawyer, businessman and mediator in B.C. and Ontario. He has worked closely with his business clients as a strategic advisor bringing a practical, entrepreneurial approach, combined with a very relational style. Peter is known as a leading mid-market M&A legal advisor in British Columbia. He has also advised dozens of companies on employee ownership. He is a frequent speaker, moderator and writer on M&A, private equity and employee ownership topics.
Peter currently serves as a director or advisor to the boards of several B.C. and international companies as well as a number of not-for-profits. Peter chairs a MacKay CEO Forum Group. He is deeply involved as Vice-Chair of Food for the Hungry, a global relief and development NGO with a vision to see the end of systemic poverty. Skiing, cycling, movies and reading round out Peter’s primary interests.

- Acting for the sellers of Fluxwerx Illumination Inc. on a $85,000,000 share sale to Lumenpulse Inc., a TSX company (March 2016);
- Advising the owners of a major supplier to the construction industry in a divestiture to a strategic US buyer (over $100 million) (September 2014);
- Advising management on the $175 million divestiture of Garden Protein International Inc. to a public company (Pinnacle Foods) (November 2014);
- Advising management of a major financial services firm on a sale to a US-based strategic buyer with enterprise value of about $50 million (July, 2015);
- Advising the majority owner and other members of the management group on the sale of Vega to WhiteWave, an NYSE listed company for US$550 million (August 2015);
- Advising the principal shareholder and management shareholders on the sale of a national supplier of fuel management services to a US private equity firm (over $225 million) (September 2013);
- Advising the owners of a key Western Canadian constructions services company to a US strategic buyer (over $50 million) (September 2014);
- Advising the owners of a major Canadian provider of insurance services to a major North American brokerage firm (2014 Dealmaker of the Year) (March 2014);
- Advising a well-known consumer goods company on a major investment by a private equity consortium (2012 Dealmaker of the Year) (August 2012);
- Advising the seller of a manufacturing company on an asset sale to a strategic buyer (September 2010);
- Advising a Canadian health food products company on a significant investment by a US private equity firm (June 2011);
- Advising the seller on a US$160 million asset sale to a US public company buyer;
- Advising the seller in a $85 million enterprise value transaction with a major Canadian private equity firm (June 2010);
- Advising borrower on a $100 million new credit facility with a bank consortium (August 2014);
