Rachel’s practice focuses primarily on private company mergers and acquisitions and private equity fund formation and transactions. She works on both the buy and sell-side of deals and her experience spans a variety of industries. She also works on commercial contracts, shareholders agreements, corporate reorganizations and restructurings, and debt and equity financings.
Clients describe her as highly responsive and dedicated to ensuring they receive high levels of service and attention throughout transactions that are often complex and stressful. Rachel prides herself on getting to know her clients and understanding their needs.
Rachel began her legal career in the Hong Kong office of an international law firm and in-house as an Asia regional counsel. During this time, she worked with a wide range of clients and parties in other jurisdictions. This experience provides her with a deep understanding of cultural norms and business practices that are critical in navigating complex transactions in the modern day. Rachel is passionate about giving back to the legal and business communities. She serves on the board of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers BC (FACL BC), where she focuses on promoting professional development and mentorship for students and young lawyers. Additionally, Rachel volunteers with the Association of Women in Finance, serving on the sponsorship committee to help connect and foster the growth of women in the business community.
